What a surprising disappointment. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice, but that's where the fun stops. The dinner menu is the first problem with very few choices of authentic or exciting mexican food. And what happened to complimentary chips and salsa? We can get bread as a pre-dinner bite in the U.S. It seems they are trying to simulate American cuisine, which they failed doing and shouldn't do in the first place. As for the service, I believe our server was actually a security guard filling in. He did not know what he was doing and addressed us when taking our orders with "What do you want?" The other servers appeared knowledgeable and friendly however. The food was not good. Margaritas were the worst I'd ever had, and the bartender was in dire need of a personality. We returned for breakfast b/c we didn't want to leave the property. The omelette and hash browns were dripping in butter, and it didn't open until 8:30 AM. All in all, more is expected from a restaurant located in such beautiful surroundings. As for the pool bar food, it was more Americanized, which was good and bad - good b/c it didn't come from Adobe and bad because we can get that in the U.S. However, they serve the BEST shrimp cocktail I've ever had in my life, and the frozen margs were awesome! Although, how does one run out of nachos?? That gave us a good laugh.
